Early Wars
Captain William Hawkins Commanded the H.M.S. “Great Galley”, one of the principle sea captains in the west of England. One of the first Englishmen to open trade with West Africa.
Sir William Hawkins Commanded the H.M.S. Griffin in the fight against the Armada
Admiral Sir John Hawkins Reorganised the Royal Navy. Died on an expedition with his cousin, Sir Francis Drake.
Colonial and Indian Wars
Lt. James Gilmore Served in the British Colonial Army in the 1750s and 1760s in fights against the Indians. He is the same as Captain James Gilmore below.
The American Revolution
Captain James Gilmore Commanded his Company of Rockbridge Rifle which were instrumental in winning the Battle of Cowpens.

Stephen Williams Sgt in the Army, enlisted three times. Fought at the Battles of Briar Creek, Camden, and Eutaw Springs.

John J. Mosley Co. E, 11th Battalion Louisiana Infantry. Enlisted 14 May 1862 in Many, Louisiana.
George William Rollins Pvt. Co. A, 16th Louisiana Infantry. Captured 19 July 1863. Died a prisoner of war at Camp Morton, Indiana August 1863. Buried at Crown Hill Cemetery, Evansville, Indiana.
William F. Rollins Pvt. Co. A, 16th Louisiana Infantry. Died a prisoner of war at Camp Morton, Indiana August 1863. Buried in Evansville, Indiana.
Joseph B. Rollins Co. D, 16th Louisiana Infantry. Fought at Shiloh and Murfreesboro. Died in camp hospital in Ringgold, Georgia on 22 January 1863. [ George, William, and Joseph all were the sons of John de la Fletcher Rollins.]
